Lampeter is a small but busy market town in the Teifi Valley, home to the oldest University in Wales. During the summer, the famous Food Festival is held, along with a number of other events, such as the Rhys Thomas James Eisteddfod, the Drovers Arts Festival and the Carnival.
Who we are
Menter Llambed was formed in May 2000 to provide a focus for community based development. It is a joint undertaking between the Lampeter Town Council (the voluntary sector), the Lampeter Chamber of Trade (business) and the University of Wales Lampeter (the public sector).
Menter Llambed mission is to:
To create, foster and develop projects for the town of Lampeter and its district, which will stimulate economic, social, environmental and tourism.
To enhance and develop Lampeter in its historic role as an economic, commercial, cultural and social centre in the central Teifi valley.
To make the town and its locality an attractive and vibrant location for inhabitants and visitors alike.
To enable the town and its area to celebrate its community feeling, its sense of place and its location.
To enhance through project development access to amenities for all age groups and sectors within the community and provide opportunities and support to enterprise.
